Digital Health Group revenues over 1 billion dollars concedes Intel CEO

Story posted on: February 20, 2007

Oooops... gaffe or not, Intel CEO conceded that the company's Digital Health Group revenues are in excess of a billion dollars annually. A drop in a bucket really, compared to the 35.4 billions dollars Intel made during fiscal year 2006. But in any case, it sure caught by surprised all the Intel folks present today at the press conference held at the University of California Medical Center's Library.

Not the least, was Louis Burns, general manager and vice-president of Intel's Digital Health Group created two years ago by Otellini himself after he reorganised the company in 5 groups, including also the Mobility Group, the Digital Enterprise Group, the Digital Home Group and the Channel Products Group. "I'm surprised Paul said anything about revenues", admitted the Intel exec. Not sure what it means for Intel's financial reporting but it sure sheds a new perspective on this "strategic" group for the chipmaker.
