Fireside chat on security, Microsoft way

Story posted on: February 06, 2007

Nothing much to take away from Bill Gates and Chief Research Officer Craig Mundie chat on security that sounded like a "Mea Culpa" for Microsoft's founder last RSA Conference . "We haven't given great tools to manage [our customers] identity", admits Mundie. In another salve:"We did not do a lot of thinking and even less engineering in working on interopability". Wow, they sure made a "leap in their own thinking"!
The Microsofties did manage to announce their support for open source single sign-on project OpenID and integration with its CardSpace identity management software, available with Windows Vista.
