I've just arrived before noon in Las Vegas to cover PMA 07, the world's largest annual international photo imaging convention and trade show... so *they* say. I heard Photokina in Cologne, Germany is also another major event in this industry as well as one trade show in Japan. Organised by the Photo Marketing Association (PMA... duhhhh!), the PMA 07 conference is dedicated to everything photo (digital, chromatic, photo retailers and processors, manufacturers, commercial imaging labs, scrapbook retailers, etc...). In a few minutes, I'll be attending the conference's "Sneak Peak", a small trade show open to the media with some of the companies exhibiting at the main conference. Tonight starting at 7pm, I'll head to the Treasure Island hotel to attend Digital Focus, another press only event organised by Pepcom, which is by the way not affiliated with PMA. PMA represents 20,000 members in 100-plus countries, a $87 billion industry!
