[PMA Sneak Peak] DivX showing up in Pentax digital cameras, launching YouTube for the Pros

Story posted on: March 07, 2007

At Sneak Peak, I chat with Jennifer Culter with DivX about the video specialist presence in an "imaging" conference.
We are partnering with Pentax to demonstrate our DivX certified digital still cameras. What it does is it shoots videos natively in DivX. Then you just pop out the memory card and play the video on any of the 70 million DivX certified devices.
And about DivX new video service, Stage6,
It is our version of YouTube for serious content creators who really want to build a brand and use this alternate community to get the word across. We're focus on high quality content, with videos going up to 1080p (HD). Unlike YouTube, viewers download the videos and take it off their PC to watch it in their living room. Something you can not do with Flash-based content.
