In the living room, HP shifting focus away from Media Center PCs to MediaSmart TVs and Apple TV look-alikes

After HP's yesterday gaming summit event I've asked the CTO of HP's PC group, Phil McKinney about his company's recent decision to can their Digital Entertainment Center (DEC), a living-room form factor Media Center PC (picture). Furthermore, there's also an interesting piece written by analyst Rob Enderle on the same topic.
We are absolutely not exiting the Media Center business. We just stopped the development of the very specialised DEC to concentrate on simpler designs like our new TouchSmart PCs, MediaSmart TVs and Apple TV like devices.
