Kara Swisher confirmed the presence of Philippe Dauman, Viacom's chief, at the upcoming D: All Things Digital conference she co-produces with Wall Street Journal's columnist Walt Mossberg.

"We had in fact the head of Viacom called us for our D conference and asked if he can be on stage and I said the only spot is [sandwiched] between Eric Schmidt [the head of Google] and the YouTube guys. And that's it and they're coming"

I'm a bit impressed how the big honcho at one of the big media had to suck up to *technology* tsars Mossberg/Swisher to be just "on stage"... but I guess that by then, Viacom and Google/YouTube will probably be a one big happy family ;-)
