[Searchology] Google looks at cross-language search

Udi Manber, Google’s VP Engineering, announced at the Searchology event that Google will soon launch a cross language search. Users will be able to search a word in their own language and get results in another one. They are currently sustaining 12 languages. On the image you can see a search done in arabic with english results on the same page for "restaurants in New york" typed in arabic.
