YouTube meets Apple TV... it's Deja Vu, Steve! (video)

Story posted on: May 31, 2007

Steve Jobs proudly announced yesterday at the D conference that Apple TV users will soon, in June, be able to watch YouTube videos on their TVs. But they'll have to wait until Fall to access all of YouTube's catalog.

Firstly, I would argue that using my gorgeous and expensive LCD HDTV -you'll need one with the Apple TV!- to watch crappy quality videos (like mines by the way ;-) is like putting "Chanel lipstick on a pig"... I just love Chanel!

Secondly, it's not even as exciting as it sounds from his Jobsness. No, really. Netgear's Digital Entertainer is doing it for months already: streaming ALL of YouTube videos off the Internet, in addition to streaming audio, video, images from PCs, network storage and to/from other media receivers around the house. And you can even send instant messages to get your children off the tube!
