Incentives to buy high mileage cars not enough, says Google's energy czar

Story posted on: June 12, 2007

Bill Weihl (photo) and a couple of other people work on understanding and managing Google's carbon footprint, working on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
"Employees incentives for high mileage cars are very important actually, and can have an impact on the world, in terms of driving demand for high mileage cars and incentive our employees to do the right thing. But it's very hard to count in how it can reduce our carbon footprint [...] Google shuttles for example are already using 20% biodiesel fuel and we will increase that over time", said Weihl.
