iPhone launch: Steve Jobs surprise visit to Palo Alto Apple Store (video)

Story posted on: June 29, 2007

I knew Steve Jobs was coming to Palo Alto when I saw an Apple PR friend of mine (Hi, Kirstin!) who's usually there when he is! How lucky though, as he could have gone to Valley Fair in Cupertino (where Woz was waiting in line overnight!) or in glizzy San Francisco. But I guessed that leaving just a few blocks away from downtown Palo Alto, Jobs would at least pop inside and feel this crazy atmosphere for himself ;-)

In the video, you'll see Jobs speaking with Bill Atkinson and Andy Hertzfeld, two members of the original Apple Macintosh development.
"I sent him one", exclaimed Steve Jobs when asked about Woz waiting in line at the Cupertino Apple Store who apparently is looking for 6 more!

Why does there always have to be one or two old geeks to monopolize a guy? It would have been nicer to see Steve going through the crowd thanking them for their support.

Instead he\'s stuck with these old dudes.
Weird.

That\'s the downside of being Steve Jobs - old dudes keep following you...

Any Hertzfeld is such a snob, Bill is trying to say something to Steve and he is just hogging the conversation. And a loud mouth on top of it.

They seriously need to have Steve on "What Not to Wear".
