[SDForum] Start-up must find sponsor first, says HP Ventures

Story posted on: June 07, 2007

Here are some advice Ray Wu of HP 's New Business Ventures shared at SDForum's event on corporate venture investment, for entrepreneurs wanting to get funded by his group.
- obviously, you'll have to go through him or his partners. For very large deals, go to the M&A group;
- you must have an existing relationship with an HP business unit, whether it's the PC group, printer and imaging, servers and storage, or the services group. This will accelerate the evaluation process HP has in place to look at early-stage start-ups;
- "mobility" is hot!
