We can't ship junk... [like Dell or HP] and we're cheaper, says Apple chief

At the iMac launch today, I found Steve Jobs more aggressive than usual towards his PC competitors like Dell or HP. The most virulent comments of his diatribe I thought were:
"There's some stuff in our industry that we wouldn't be proud to ship... We just can't ship junk... So there's a threshold we can't cross because of who we are... "Also, for Jobs, Apple computers are not pricier than the competition, as long if you don't compare the Cupertino machines with entry-level PCs
"What you'll find is that our products are usually not premium price. You go out and price out our competitors' products, and you add the features you have to add to make it useful and you'll find that in some cases they are more expensive than our products. The difference is we don't offer strip down lousy products".

I\'ve always become concerned when a CEO finds it necessary to dis the competiton to tout the virtues of their own products. Remember SUN, Novell, etc. You don\'t win customers by telling them they are stupid for buying from the other guy.
