At the press event, Kingston also showed off some existing Flash memory mobility products like their 4GB high capacity microSD card ($91), and a 4-in-1 mobility kit including a 1GB microSD Memory Card, a microSD and a full-size SD adapter and a USB reader for about $27. The company also presented its MusicConnection starter pack that includes a 1GB microSD card, a USB reader and 60 free songs that you can download on eMusic for a total of about $30.
Like everybody else in the industry since the launch of the Apple iPhone, Kingston suffered of Flash memory shortages and could not really keep up with the demand. According to industry analysts, the Flash market is now just coming back to normal levels and everybody should receive their product allocation. Kingston suffered perhaps a bit more than the other companies in the Flash memory business as they are a relatively new to the Flash market. Anyway, Flash is a tiny portion of Kingston's annual revenues of more than $3.7 billion of mainly of memory modules for PCs.
