Monster Cable Wirelessly Connects iPods with Home Stereo Systems (video)

Story posted on: October 24, 2007

At the Pepcom media event last night, I met with with lovely Jialin of Monster Cables (thanks for the power outlet!) who showed us the company's upcoming wireless bridge that uses a proprietary 2.4GHz RF technology to connect an iPod to a home stereo system up to 30 feet away. Jialin noted that the company consciously chose not to use Bluetooth because of its lower audio quality. Cable's wireless bridge will be available mid-December for close about $100. It'll be compatible with all the iPod products, including the iPod Touch, but not the iPhone. The second generation of the wireless bridge will be though, Jialin promised. To me, Cable's wireless bridge is very similar to Belkin's TuneStage 2 but with a much nicer look and price tag ($150!)!
