WooMe Brings Speed Dating To The Web
Story posted on: October 31, 2007
Today I've talked with WooMe CEO Stephen Stokols about his latest speed dating web site. First, I found Interesting that prior to founding WooMe, Stokols was at British Telecom in charge of everything related to innovation for the mass market.... and the youngest he claims.
The concept of WooMe is simple: bring an equal number of men and women to a video session where each of them have about 1 minute to "woo" the other. After the interaction is over, if both the man and the woman like each other than they'll have pay $1 to get the other's contacts. So it's free to play as many sessions you want, and you only pay if it's successful.

"You know if you like each other in 3 seconds!", Stokols said.Interestingly enough, about 30% of the sessions are *not* dating related but also used to hire new employees, find roomates, car pools, etc. WooMe expects to make money on the $1 fee as well as advertising clip that will play during a session...
