[MacWorld '08] Equinux To Consolidate Germany's Apple Developer Market (video)

Story posted on: January 16, 2008

If Equinux had a motto it would certainly be, "less is better". And for several reasons. According to CEO Till Schadde (pictured) that I met during the show, Equinux is all about simplifying the user interface. No matter how complex is the underlying software, be it a VPN client or a TV tuner. The Munich-based company has around 45 employees and a small office in San Mateo, CA... and they are hiring big time in the US to boost their sales in light of the weak dollar.
Equinux is a strange animal as the German software company does not focus on a particular market. It's products go from a VPN client to a TV tuner to eBay selling tool to Apple Mail stationery!
"It's true that there's not much in common among these products. Apart from a lean and clean user interface... And we are looking to add ground breaking new products in emerging areas like media content, etc..., admits Schadde.
Going forward, Schadde has some aggressive growth plans. In a nutshell, he wants to consolidate the German Mac software market and acquire the best Apple developers in the country. If Schadde dreams materialise, Equinux could well become the largest independent Apple developer in Europe!

Till Schadde video interview after the jump.
