Microsoft finally launched its long awaited [3 years in the making!!!] update of its productivity software suite for Mac. Now Apple users can finally open Office 2007 attachments! No small achievement believe me.
So to celebrate the new release, Microsoft hosted a party of its own tonight at the Yerba Buena theatre, just across from the Moscone South where MacWorld is being held.
There I had a chance to catch up with the new boss of Microsoft's Mac BU (business unit), Craig Esler (pictured). He was telling me that the first he did when he arrived at the Mac BU last summer was to delay the launch of Office Mac... for quality issues. Well, I haven't yet the chance to try out the 2008 vintage but did manage to get a copy and will test it later. Please share your thoughts about this latest version.
