Microsoft Pushing "Software+Services" in the Enterprise

Story posted on: February 29, 2008

I arrived around midnight this morning in Redmond, WA (my Alaska Airlines flight was nearly 2 hours late!) to attend a Microsoft press briefing focused on the company's top business priorities and share its Software + Services strategy and roadmap for businesses.

Since October 2007, Microsoft rolled out on a limited availability, its "IT online services". So far, the online service offering such as Sharepoint Online, Exchange Online, etc... was only available for companies ready to sign up for 5,000 seats or more. Microsoft Senior VP of the Information Worker Product Management Group (the whole Office business), Chris Capossela, is probably going to talk about that. Today we'll also meet with Bill Hilf, Windows Server Marketing General Manager, Technical Fellow David Campbell and Michael Risse, VP of the worldwide SMB group.
