Sun Bullish, Inspite Slower U.S. Economy (video)

Story posted on: February 13, 2008

This morning, Sun CEO, Jonathan Schwartz (pictured) is kicking off his company's Global Media Summit hosted at its Menlo Park campus.

Although one would think that with the economy slowing down, the first thing companies would do is to cut their IT expenses. Well, not for Schwartz, who argues right the opposite... naturally as his company existence would be at risk otherwise.

"If business gets tough, you drive efficiency, automation. You look for easier and more effective mechanism to go reach the market place [...] Therefore we saw a good tail wind when we left the quarter in the sense that we saw a good bookings growth (orders that are given to Sun bu have not yet been converted into revenues) [...] a fantastic growth in referred revenues. Over 20% year over year [...] And in general we saw a very robust demand for products...", Schwartz said.
