[Under the Radar] Kwiry Links Cell Phone Numbers To Email Addresses (video)

Story posted on: March 20, 2008

For many, Kwiry (pronounced "queery") could be just a feature of a larger service: it just turns text and audio messages (and soon videos) into email reminders. That's it! OK... there's a social network component through the Kwiry homepage where you can see all your friends' kwirys. I guess that's what you'd call a Web 2.0 company!

This "reminder"/SMS-email gateway service all started when Kwiry CEO, Ron Feldman, wanted to remember about something he read while commuting from San Francisco on his way to work.
"I constantly had those [newspaper] articles that I wanted to forward to friends, colleagues and family. But there was no good way to find those articles later. So what did I do? I stack them up and at the end of each week I painfully search online for these articles and send them out to friends", said Feldman.

Feldman claims that Kwiry would bring people that see 3 to 5 thousand "media cues" every day to the online world and that media companies and advertisers would definitely pay for that or at least be interested to put an ad next to the kwiry.

"Kwiry is a platform that help media companies and advertisers connect there offline audiences online... Text messaging is pervasive and natural... 80% of the US population are using text messaging", added Feldman.

Hi There, this is David with kwiry.com. Thank you for the post and your constructive thoughts on kwiry. I wanted to throw some additional ideas into the mix.

The primary goal with kwiry is to help you remember all the little things you see throughout the day (new movie, new albums, new website, etc.) You can text message that new movie to 59479 and we will send you an email, and store it for you online along with relevant search results form Yahoo!, Amazon, iTunes, Yelp, etc.

The business model for kwiry is distinct from our consumer product, and I want to clear that up. Print publishers can include a kwiry SMS short code and use that to drive print readers to online content - for instance we\'ve just done a project with Ford at the New York Autoshow where consumers can text in a keyword and gain access to restricted info online.

I\'d be happy to sync up offline if you have any other questions - you can reach me at: david@stagetwconsulting.com.

And if you haven\'t tried the service yet, we\'d love to get any direct feedback you want to offer.
