Can Intel Really Innovate, AMD Wonders

Story posted on: August 15, 2008

A few days before Intel's bi-annual developer conference (IDF), AMD hosted a conference call today to give its version of the "distorted" information its rival will "boast" next week.

During the call, AMD took aim particularly at Intel's IDF tagline "If innovation was easy, anyone could do it" (pictured below), comparing Intel's real innovation to nothing more than imitation!

AMD referred to Intel's next-generation Nehalem chip architecture that resembles AMD Opteron's, launch 5 years ago, with an integrated memory controller and high-speed bus. However, it would have taken 6 years to AMD to unveil the next iteration of its server chip, expected early next year. Innovation is anything but easy!
