Microsoft Meets San Francisco Bay Area International Press

Story posted on: August 07, 2008

Tonight, I joined a group of Silicon Valley Foreign Correspondents (all members of the International Press Club of California that a colleague and I started almost 9 years ago!) at Palo Alto's Fuki Sushi restaurant to meet with Josie Taylor (pictured on the right), the Global PR Manager for Microsoft’s Server & Tools business.

This dinner is part of a series of informal meetings organised by the Press Club to foster relationships between the region's international press (China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK...) and high-tech companies. Most of the largest Silicon Valley companies have sponsored Press Club events such as Cisco, Intel, HP, Sun Microsystems... and Intel will be sponsoring the next Press Club Mixer at the end of the month.

The good thing is that part of Josie's responsibilities back in Redmond, Washington, is to build better working relationships with Silicon Valley Foreign Correspondents by learning more about their needs, improving communications and prioritizing pre-load access to spokespersons/materials in line with major announcements. Looking forward to working with you more Josie!
